I was reading hyperbole and a half’s blog entry explaining their experience of depression and decided to make another sketchy comic based on my experiences with anxiety, which is another mental illness I think people tend to misunderstand quite frequently
Hopefully this will be of use to some people - whether they suffer from anxiety themselves or if they just want to know more about it
This is why you do not say “get over it” to people, its never productive and just plain dumb, because they cannot control themselves even so there is positive influence all around, even so they bitch,whine or just plain depressed, be patient with them reassure them, and treat them how you would treat other people kindness and respect
Jeez, I see so much of this stuff these days.
You know what I really don’t like? People who has issues and who uses these issues as an excuse not to work on their issues. All this stuff about your anxiety, depression, paranoia or low self esteem, and how people are supposed to comunicate with you. Well, you know what? It’s your problem, deal with it.
I’m saying this stuff not because I’m a huge physically and menatally fit douchebag, I have a fucking incurible physical condition that might cripple by the time I reach the age of 30. Dammit, I spent a fucking month in my bed unable to move with a pain so intence I wished I pass out as soon as possible. Because of that and a few other thing I had paranoia, depression, anxiety, sociophobia, low self esteem, a terrible case of procrastination and ungly nerdy mustaches.
If you don’t want people to get annoyed with you (and they will get annoyed, because talking with a such a person is a torture for most people) you actually make an effort to do something about. Stop whining about how you are unable to control it, make an actual move to improve yourself and fix your issues. You CAN controll it, you CAN fix it, you just don’t know the way to do it. Try to find it.
